Agile IT offers fixed-price Office 365 Migration to the new Microsoft OfficeSAN DIEGO, California — February 27, 2013 — Agile IT announced it would begin migrating customers to the new version of Office 365, released today by Microsoft.

The new Office 365, brings new features and plans, all based upon the tried and tested technology of Microsoft Office Professional, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft Lync.

“The new Office 365 will allow more businesses to work securely from anywhere,” said John Gilham, Agile IT’s Principal Consultant and Cloud Architect. “With more people working outside office buildings on mobile devices such as the new Microsoft Surface Pro, and in geographically-separated locations, Office 365 offers all of the security, reliability and collaborative functions of an on-premise solution, with the flexibility of anywhere access.”

All of the component parts of Office 365 have been brought firmly up to date, with Office 2013 Professional, Exchange 2013 Online, SharePoint 2013 Online and Lync 2013 Online making up the core of the suite. New applications to the line-up are the addition of Visio and Project ‘bolt-on’ services, familiar to many in the corporate arena.

Another key feature of the new Office is the switch to ‘per-user’ licensing, which offers the ability to install the software on up to 5 devices per user. Recognizing the modern trend for people to work on multiple devices such as tablets and smartphones as well as PCs, the new licensing removes the need for separate licensing for each device, as used to be the case.

“I firmly believe that the new Office 365 is the absolute best choice for businesses of all sizes who are looking to improve productivity and reduce costs,” continued Gilham. “Agile IT is excited to be part of the new Office 365 and we look forward to continuing to provide unrivalled customer service and expertise in migrating new clients to the Cloud.”

One of the first ever companies to migrate users to Office 365, Agile IT is a Tier 3 member of the prestigious Microsoft Cloud Champions Club and is one of the less than 0.5% of Microsoft partners to hold that position. In addition to holding six Microsoft Gold competencies and six Microsoft Silver competencies, Agile IT was awarded “Southwest Area Cloud Partner of the Year” by Microsoft in 2012 and was ranked alongside Amazon and Rackspace by Talkin’Cloud as one of the top 100 Cloud Service Providers in the world.

Agile IT’s success is also good news for the local economy, with 100% growth in the number of jobs in the San Diego area each year for the past three years, and further recruitment in the pipeline.

“We currently employ twelve San Diego residents, along with numerous staff at other locations,” Gilham said, “and we‘ve already taken on the first new recruits of 2013.”

Founded in 2006 by a former Business Technology consultant from Microsoft, San Diego-based Agile IT was one of the first service providers to deliver fixed price IT support & Office 365 solutions. Agile IT’s core focus is helping its SMB and Enterprise clients maximize their investment in technology systems and solutions using operational rather than capital expense, to make it a more agile organization.
